Stop Carrying It All: Reclaim Your Time & Leadership Space

For capable women leaders who have become the person everyone depends on—and are ready to lead without carrying everything themselves. Being capable has probably served you well. You notice what needs to be done. You anticipate problems. You step in when something is falling through the cracks. You remember the details, answer the questions, solve the problems, keep things moving, and make sure other people have what they need. Those abilities may be part of what made you successful. But they can also create a trap. The more capable and dependable you become, the more you can find yourself carrying—tasks that could belong to someone else, decisions other people could make, problems other people could solve, expectations you’ve never questioned, and responsibilities you aren’t entirely sure how you acquired. Eventually, being the person who can handle it can get in the way of being the leader you want to be. In this focused 90-minute coaching session, we’ll look at what you’re carrying, why you’re carrying it, and what needs to change. What we’ll do together * Map what’s currently consuming your time, attention, and mental bandwidth. * Identify what truly requires your leadership—and what you’ve continued to own because of habit, expectations, assumptions, or discomfort with letting go. * Uncover the patterns making it difficult to delegate, set boundaries, allow others to solve problems, or say no. * Clarify what can be delegated, renegotiated, simplified, stopped, or returned to its rightful owner. * Design the conversations and next steps that will help you make those changes without sacrificing trust, accountability, or the quality of your leadership. What you’ll walk away with * A clearer picture of where your leadership capacity is being unnecessarily consumed. * A practical Keep / Delegate / Renegotiate / Release map for the responsibilities you’re currently carrying. * Clarity about one or two patterns that have been keeping you over-responsible. * A strategy for at least one delegation, boundary, or expectations conversation you need to have. * 2–3 concrete changes you can begin making immediately to create more capacity for the work that actually requires you. If you’re worried that stepping back means lowering your standards, disappointing people, or becoming less committed, we’ll examine that too. The goal isn’t to care less, contribute less, or become less dependable. It’s to become more intentional about where your leadership is actually needed—and stop measuring your value by how much you’re able to carry. You don’t need to become better at carrying everything. You need to decide what is actually yours to carry.

What happens before the session?

Before we meet, take a few minutes to think about where you currently feel stretched too thin, over-responsible, or pulled in too many directions. Come prepared with one or two real situations that are taking more of your time, energy, or attention than you think they should. No formal preparation is needed—we’ll sort through it together.
